Alicia Hollis, LPC - Licensed in MO, NV, and TX
Alicia A. Hollis, EdS, NCC, LPC, has years of varied experience serving children,
parents, and educators in public, private, charter, urban, rural, and suburban schools as
a counselor in both Kansas and Missouri. She has a passion for guiding adolescents
during tumultuous times and facilitating college and career counseling for individuals of
all ages. She loves to advocate for the rights of children with special needs, specifically
in school settings, though not exclusively. She has assisted parents in obtaining 504
plans and IEP’s, and has also written them herself as a former school counselor and
English teacher.
After her time serving in the school system, Alicia decided to pursue her clinical license
and was able to do so while working under supervision at Crittenton Children’s Center.
She was a member of their intake team and performed biopsychosocial evaluations to
determine inpatient psychiatric admissions (and PRTF residential admissions) for
children ages 5-18. At Crittenton, Alicia worked with a team of psychiatrists, medical
doctors, therapists, and nurses among other professionals. While there, she gained
critical experience working with highly acute children as well as complex family
dynamics including foster care placements, residential assignments, children’s division
workers, and law enforcement officers to name a few.
Alicia's areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, PTSD, learning
disabilities/issues, children and adolescents, career counseling, racial and cultural
issues, anger management, trauma, play therapy, homelessness, youth in DCF, DFS,
and DYS custody, at-risk youth, EAP counseling, and military families.
